Contributing isn’t fun

I’ve had enough of everyone

it’s time to take account of me

a person that I rarely see

inventiveness is where it’s at

without it then my life goes flat

yes contributing can be nice

as long as I don't pay a price

a life time isn’t always long

it can become a distant song

it isn’t always hanging there

providing arms and legs and air

it’s time to measure my half life

against the coming surgeon’s knife

and make way now for things to grow

without which I won’t want to go
